AMID WIDESPREAD public grumbling, millions of Filipinos around Luzon reeled from the lack of electricity for the fourth straight day yesterday as the death toll from the onslaught of Typhoon “Milenyo” (international codename: Xangsane) shot past the 100 mark.
Tens of thousands of others also struggled without water as utility companies tried to assure the public that they were doing their best to completely restore services.
The Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) failed to meet its earlier announced target of fully restoring electricity in Metro Manila by yesterday. Its officials said some areas may still be in the dark up to Tuesday.
One of the hardest hit regions was Bicol, where around 60 percent of the estimated regional population of 4.2 million were still without power, according to Arnel Capili, Office of Civil Defense regional director.
Among the provinces in Bicol still in darkness were Sorsogon, Albay and parts of Camarines Sur, the OCD said.

I wasn't able to update my blog after the storm coz there was NO power... NO phoneline... so this update came late....
